At Caversham Park Primary School, Design and Technology encourages children to become creative thinkers, problem-solvers and innovative designers. Through practical, hands-on activities, children learn to design, make and evaluate products for a range of purposes, developing their skills in structures, mechanisms, textiles, cooking and nutrition. They explore different materials, tools and techniques, learning how to make choices, overcome challenges and improve their designs.

Children are encouraged to share ideas, work collaboratively and learn from their mistakes, building confidence and resilience along the way.

Our aim is to inspire children to be curious, imaginative and resourceful, developing the skills and enthusiasm to design and create solutions to real-life problems.
