At Caversham Park Primary School, we encourage children to be curious about languages that are spoken all around our world and to appreciate the similarities and differences between other languages and English, as well as the cultures and traditions of other countries.

Our aim is to inspire a love of language learning and equip children with the confidence and skills to communicate in an increasingly connected world.

At Caversham Park Primary School, children in KS2 are taught French. We believe that learning French gives children the opportunity to explore a new language, develop their communication skills and discover another culture. Through fun, engaging and practical activities, children learn to listen, speak, read and write in French, building their vocabulary and confidence as they progress through KS2. They enjoy learning through songs, games, conversations and interactive activities, developing their understanding of pronunciation and simple grammatical structures.
